Suspension

Important components of the concept, on the basis of which the chassis was created, – optimized by design front axle on Macpherson struts and increased wheel track. The shock absorbers and springs have separate supports and effectively hide road irregularities, so that the driver almost does not feel their impact. In addition, the anti-roll bars are placed directly on the shock absorber struts. This reduces lateral roll in the front axle area. The result is the smoothest possible ride and stability.

The rear axle with four wishbone suspension also contributes to the new Golf’s impressively smooth ride. The special positioning of the suspension arms (one trailing arm and three wishbones per wheel) ensures that the longitudinal and transverse tilt dynamics are calculated separately.
