2003 Kia Rio Owner's Manual

The KIA Rio’s front suspension is independent, McPherson-type spring suspension with anti-roll bar. The rear suspension is semi-independent, spring, with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers. Already in the basic package, the hatchback is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, emergency braking alert technology (ESS), two front airbags, air conditioning, electric and heated mirrors, as well as Russified on-board computer. Options include a stabilization system, climate control, parktronic, keyless entry, engine start button, and an audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity for external devices.

In the engine range Kia Rio two power units – in-line “four” in volume of 1.4 and 1.6 liters. The first has 107 horsepower at 6,300 rpm, the second – 123 “horses” at the same crankshaft speed. Both engines can be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed “automatic”, consuming in the mixed cycle from 5.9 to 6.5 liters per 100 km. The fastest version of Rio has turned out from a combination of a 1.6-liter engine with a “manual”. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds and has a top speed of 190 km/h.
