2006 Ford Ranger Owner's Manual

Designed to overcome the harsh off-road Ford Ranger has a frame construction, reinforced suspension and all-wheel drive system. Engineers have slightly improved the design of the running gear of the last generation of the model, thus improving the level of comfort and handling. Also for the latter, electric power steering has been installed instead of the outdated hydraulic steering. In addition the electric all-wheel drive transmission received a new gearbox. As for the auxiliary systems, it is worth noting the stabilization system, which automatically changes its settings depending on the load.

Customer can choose from two 2.2-liter Duratorq diesel engines with a capacity of 130 hp (330 Nm) or 160 hp (385 Nm). Both work in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission. At the same time, for the weaker version, only rear-wheel drive is available. A Start/Stop system is available to improve fuel efficiency.
