2009 Volkswagen Golf GTI Owner's Manual

The Volkswagen Golf GTI was the first Volkswagen car to come standard with the XDS electronic inter-axle differential locking system. It allows for a significant increase in traction and handling. Technically, XDS is an extension of the Electronic Differential Locking System (EDS) functions that are part of ESP.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI comes standard with sport seats that offer excellent ergonomics. The settings of the seats allow the driver to feel comfortable both on long trips and when driving in sport mode. The seats are equipped with an integrated lumbar support that can be adjusted with a side lever. In addition, the seats are equipped with trauma-safe headrests to avoid injury to the cervical spine in accidents.
