2009 Volkswagen Golf Owner's Manual

Volkswagen Golf seventh generation became larger than its predecessor: 4255 mm in length and 1799 mm in width. The wheelbase also lengthened by 59 mm (to 2637 mm), as well as the track width expanded (by 8 mm in front, 6 mm behind). This allowed to make the hatchback interior even more spacious and the trunk more roomy. Knees of the rear passengers were added 15 mm, and storage space increased to 380 liters.

The engine range of Volkswagen Golf seventh generation has two petrol engines – 1.2 TSI (85 hp) and 1.4 TSI (140 hp) – and two turbodiesels – 1.6 TDI (105 hp) and 2.0 TDI (150 hp). The most powerful engine equipped with a system of switching off cylinders at partial loads, consumes only 4.8 liters of fuel per 100 km over a mixed cycle. As for the transmission, the engine can be operated with both 6-speed manual transmission and 7-band pre-selective “DSG” robot.
