Design

The team under the direction of the famous designer Hartmut Warkuss has developed a stylish and quite promising SUV project which combines the luxury and comfort of an executive limousine, the speed of a sports car and the off-road capabilities of an SUV.

Chassis

Touareg has independent suspension of all wheels. Suspension design was developed specifically for this model and provides excellent stability, handling and off-road capability of Touareg. The front and rear axles are equipped with double wishbones: the upper ones are made of aluminum and the lower ones are made of steel. The V6 model has a front axle track of 1,655 mm and a rear axle track of 1,670 mm.

Air suspension with the function of maintaining the body at a given level and adjusting the rigidity of shock absorbers is included in the list of options. The maximum clearance of Touareg with air suspension reaches 300 mm.
