For European motorists, the Volkswagen Jetta is available with a wide range of engines, all equipped with turbocharging and direct fuel injection, which meets Euro-5 environmental standards. Initially a 1.4-liter 122-horsepower and 2.0-liter 200-horsepower TSI turbocharged gasoline engines will be available, and from the second half of 2011 they will be joined by two more TSI “fours” (1.2 liter 105 hp and 1.4 liter 160 hp) as well as turbodiesels – 1.6 liter 105 hp and 2.0 liter 140 hp. The latter enables acceleration to 100 km/h in 8.7 s with an average fuel consumption of 6.9 l/100 km. In addition, in some countries another 2.5-liter gasoline engine with 170 hp will be available. You can choose from 5-speed manual transmission or dual-clutch DSG transmission (6-speed or 7-speed, depending on the engine type).
