2014 Dodge Charger SRT Owner's Manual

Despite the rabid sales success in 1966, Dodge sold only 15,788 cars the following year, 1967. That was less than half the number sold in the six months since production began. The fact is that just during this period, the feverish fashion for fastbacks ends, and the manufacturer is seriously considering a redesign of the Charger.

The design of the new Charger with a muscular front and rear, with an elegant waistline and flowing lines will later be called “coke bottle styling” for the forms and curves of the body, similar to a bottle of Coca-Cola. Rear lights of the updated model are made a la Corvette. In 1968, the Charger introduced the famous R/T (Road and Track) model with a standard engine 440 Magnum rated at 375 hp. In 1969, a special version of the Dodge Charger Daytona for NASCAR races is produced.
