Kia engineers paid a lot of attention to safety of the Cadenza. The car is equipped with a large number of airbags, ABS and EBD systems, dynamic stabilization system and other modern technologies. Under the hood of the KIA Cadenza, depending on the market, there can be a 2.4-liter gasoline engine producing 201 horsepower, a 3-liter unit producing 270 “horses,” a 3.3-liter 294 hp, or a 3.5 liter V6 of Lambda II family, producing 290 horsepower and 345 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. Up to 100 km/h a sedan with a motor like this accelerates in 7.2 seconds, consuming 9.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle. All engines are paired only with 6-speed automatic transmission.

There is also a hybrid version of the KIA Cadenza with a power plant consisting of an electric motor and a 3-liter engine running on liquefied gas, the total output of the installation is 235 hp.
