2014 Kia Optima Hybrid Owner's Manual
The main differences between the hybrid KIA Optima Hybrid and the regular sedan version, of course, are hidden under the body. We are talking about a bunch of 30-kilowatt electric motor with 208 Nm of torque and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine GDI, working on the Atkinson cycle. The total output of the installation, which also includes a block of lithium-polymer batteries and an 8.5 kW motor-generator (responsible for starting the engine when it is shut off in motion, and for charging the batteries), is 209 hp and 265 Nm. With such characteristics of power and torque, the car accelerates from a place up to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds. Its maximum speed is 195 km/hour.
