In the running gear of KIA Sorento, at the same time, there were almost no changes, except for minor adjustments made for the sake of comfort and manageability. In the front suspension of the car are still used McPherson struts, and the rear is a multi-linkage design. Disc brakes are installed on all four wheels. But the choice of wheels is wider. In particular, the list of options includes 19-inch light-alloy “rollers”.

Depending on the market, different power units can be installed under the hood of Kia Sorento. For Europe (and Ukraine), for instance, a 2.2-liter diesel engine with 197 hp capacity is available, and in the U.S. a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 engine that produces 276 “horses” is offered. Moreover, in Ukraine the Sorento is equipped also with a 2.4-liter 174-horsepower petrol unit. A 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission can work together with the motors. According to the manufacturer, all power units have become a little more economical and, as a consequence, more friendly to the environment.
