Technical component of the Fiesta ST is not fundamentally different from the parent version, but Ford engineers have worked hard to pick up the settings of the chassis, the corresponding sports orientation of the car. For this purpose the hatchback has wound many kilometers on a legendary German track Nürburgring. As a result the ST has got suspension with stiffer springs and shock absorbers, reduced ground clearance by 15 mm, reconfigured steering and three-mode stabilization system able to imitate operation of a self-locking differential.

The “charged” Ford Fiesta ST is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, producing 180 hp of power and 240 Nm of torque. Not much, but also enough that up to 100 km/h the car accelerates in less than seven seconds. Its maximum speed is 220 km/h. The power unit works only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Among the undoubted advantages of the engine is the fact that the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere the engineers managed to reduce by 20%.
Ford Fiesta is a front-drive Class “B” hatchback. The world premiere of the restyled version of the sixth generation of the model was held at the Motor Show in Paris in late September 2012.
