2017 Dodge Charger Owner's Manual

The 1966 Dodge Charger was intended to compete with the Plymouth Barracuda and Ford Mustang. These two names were already well established, and the unknown Dodge Charger, based on the Coronet platform and priced at $3,122, created a furore in the marketplace. Part of the reason for that was the interior, done in a completely unusual, for that time, style. Experts considered it a work of art. Dodge designers paid attention not only to front passengers, as it was accepted until now, but worked on the whole look of the interior. Exactly the same bucket-shaped ergonomic seats that were intended for the driver and front passenger were installed in the back. Previously, a “bench” was used for this purpose. The beautiful console did not end between the front seats, but extended further into the cabin, pleasing the eyes of the rear passengers and adding their due share of comfort.
