2017 Ford Escape uses McPherson struts in the front suspension, and multilever design with off-road capabilities in the rear. The engineers managed to increase the rigidity of the load body by using more high-strength steel. This is partly due to the fact that Escape can pull a trailer weighing from 680 to 1588 kg (depending on engine). The luggage compartment capacity is 971 liters, and if the rear seats are folded down, it will increase to 1928 liters. Ground clearance is 201 mm.

Under the hood of Ford Escape can be installed four-cylinder gasoline engine Duratec 2.5 liter (168 hp and 226 Nm), or one of the units of EcoBoost series turbocharged and direct injection 1.6-liter engine produces 176 hp of power and 240 Nm of torque, and 2-liter – 237 and 339, respectively. The power units can only be operated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
