2017 KIA Soul Owner's Manual

The Kia Soul is a front-wheel drive mini crossover of the “K1” class. The European debut of the restyled version of the second-generation model took place at the Paris Auto Show in October 2016.

There isn’t much that distinguishes this Soul from the restyled version. By and large, only the bumpers, grille and headlights have been slightly adjusted. The extended color palette of body paint can be considered as updating. In the interior, at the same time, not a single significant detail has changed. The only exception is Style Up, which is not available in all markets. It got beveled in a bottom part of a steering wheel and slightly redesigned dashboard.

The Soul is built on a platform of the second generation of a hatchback cee’d with McPherson struts in the front suspension and a torsion bar behind. The manufacturer claims that during restyling the car the suspension was readjusted to improve handling and comfort, but they did not disclose any details. No mention is made of the improved noise insulation. Obviously, the company decided that it is good as it is. And since nothing was seriously changed, including the dimensions, we can say that Soul has a relatively spacious interior for its segment, although it does not differ by a roomy trunk – only 354 liters in the five-seat configuration of the interior.
