2018 Dodge Caravan Owner's Manual

The first Dodge Caravan appeared in 1983 and immediately gained popularity, since it marked the beginning of a whole new class of roomy family cars. To please fans of different brands, the same car was sold under the names Chrysler Voyager, Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan. It was possible to distinguish them only by branded nameplates, elements of the front body (grille, bumpers) and some differences in the cabin.

Americans were immediately attracted to these very roomy minivans with low operating costs and excellent handling characteristics, which are quite a substitute for the usual before the full-size station wagons like Station Wagon.

Two engines were the main driving force: a 2.5-liter turbocharged injector four with 150 horsepower, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 141 horsepower. The latter engine became the most popular and essentially set the American standard for minivan powertrains.
