2018 Kia Optima PHEV Owner's Manual
As for the interior, the KIA Optima Plug-in Hybrid has a common interior with the entire family. Due to the specifics of the power plant, only a few minor differences are present in the instrument panel. Otherwise, the Korean manufacturer offers a fairly spacious and comfortable interior with quality materials and a high level of equipment. Among other things, remote engine start/shutdown, preheating, cooling and air conditioning (HVAC) with “driver-only” ventilation for energy conservation; battery charge control; and a multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support are available.
The Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a 2-liter GDI gasoline engine with 156 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque, which works in tandem with a 50-kilowatt electric motor. Their combined output is 205 horsepower and 375 Nm, and the range reaches 1000 km. At the same time, the sedan is able to move exclusively on electric traction, covering more than 54 km. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 9.8 kWh. In addition to charging from the gasoline unit and the energy recovery system, which by the way is 10% more efficient than in the conventional hybrid version, it can be recharged using the standard electric network.
