The Toyota RAV4 is a compact crossover with front or all-wheel drive. A restyled version of the third generation model was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. In the same year, a version with an extended wheelbase by 100 mm (to 2660 mm) made its debut.

If to look at dimensions of Toyota RAV4, it may seem that they have increased, but it is not so. The fact is that the Japanese have decided to refuse short-wheelbase version and produce only long-wheelbase one. Thus, the crossover became longer and wider, but a little bit lower than its 5-seater predecessor. Japanese have modernized the four-wheel drive system, increasing multi-disk clutch in the drive of the rear wheels (in Sport mode electronics will block it preventively).
