2019 Ford Mustang Owner's Manual

The Ford Mustang Convertible is a rear-drive “H1” class convertible. The world premiere of the model took place in December 2013. The European version debuted in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show.

There is no point in talking about the Mustang’s appearance. It just needs to be enjoyed. So let’s go straight to the story about the changes in the technical part of the car. Thus, the convertible has kept the same length of the wheelbase (2720 mm), but became wider than its predecessor. The track of rear wheels, thus, was widened by 70 mm. Obviously, it was made to improve the stability and steerability of the car. It is confirmed by the all-new suspension. In front, the Mustang has McPherson struts with a double articulated system and a less heavy, but more rigid subframe. This allowed installing bigger brake discs (320 mm) on the front axle, and they can be increased to 380 mm optionally. Rear suspension now is an independent aluminum multilever design.
