2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid Owner's Manual

As you’d expect from a car designed for high fuel efficiency, the 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid is not fast. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph takes 9 seconds, which is an average time for the segment. The brakes don’t have much force at the top of the pedal stroke, so you have to push a little harder than expected to slow down to a complete stop. At least the transition from regenerative to friction brakes goes smoothly. The hybrid takes off with the smooth pull of the electric car, but jerks forward when the gasoline engine comes on a second later.
The Fusion Hybrid is a pleasure to drive on winding roads, where it responds readily to steering turns. Body roll is also well controlled. It’s a shame the steering wheel doesn’t match the Fusion’s sporty handling.
