Inside the hatchback also became more rigorous and “sporty”. Rim of a steering wheel remained classical, but the hub became round, and “chrome” (plastic color matching) design instead of glossy changes the impression. Scales are grouped in two equal wells (that is revolutions – also important), though previously a speedometer was placed on the center. Border “hovering” touch screen (7 or 8 inches, depending on the configuration) of the multimedia system and adjacent air ducts are also made in “chrome” instead of glossy plastic as before. The climate control has lost its own display, but its buttons and “knobs” have become more expressive. As for practicality, the Ceed of this generation offers 395 liters of trunk space (as well as 87 mm lower loading height).

Several engines are available for the car on the European market. The 1.0-liter T-GDi gasoline engine produces 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque. The 1.4-liter T-GDi delivers 140 hp and 242 Nm of torque. There’s also an un-inflated 1.4-liter MPi-engine producing 100 hp and 134 Nm of torque. New for the model is a 1.6-liter CRDi “U3” series diesel engine that produces 115 and 136 hp and 280 or 300 Nm respectively. All engines are paired with a six-speed “manual” or (the most powerful gasoline and diesel) seven-speed “robot” with two clutches. The suspension has a different geometry, although the architecture remains the same (multilever at the rear). Steering became sharper due to an increase in the ratio of the steering rack – now it is 12.7:1.
