The Rogue has retained all the best qualities inherent in the second-generation X-Trail, but it has some absolute novelties for Nissan – the Active Ride Control and Active Engine Brake systems. The first controls the stiffness of shock absorbers, and the second – torque and variator, providing the most effective engine braking. The third new system for the Rogue (also installed on the Infiniti M) is the Active Trace Control cornering assistance system. Through the use of on-board sensors that provide data on vehicle speed, steering angle, throttle position and hydraulic brake pressure, the system individually brakes the wheels to reduce the effect of understeer and help the driver when passing difficult curves. This system is particularly effective on slippery and wet roads.
