The Toyota Avalon is offered in five configurations: XLE, XLE Plus, XLE Premium, Touring, and Limited. The base model is equipped with 17-inch wheels, halogen head and tail lights, keyless entry system with an engine start button, power front seats with heating, and dual-zone climate control. The top version Limited offers 18-inch wheels, headlights, leather upholstery with perforated leather (front seats with power, heating and ventilation), three-zone climate control, a JBL audio system with 11 speakers, and navigation.

The main distinguishing feature of the Avalon Hybrid is its powertrain. Instead of the 3.5-liter V6 that powers the regular Avalon, it uses Hybrid Synergy Drive technology: an electric motor with a 1.6 kWh nickel-metal hydride battery. These are combined with a 2.5-litre petrol atmospheric engine that runs on the more fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle. In total, the hybrid unit produces 200 horsepower. It works in combination with an electronically controlled variable speed drive ECVT. Fuel consumption is 5.9 liters per “hundredth” in the city.
