2021 Ford Mustang Owner's Manual

The Ford Mustang is a rear-wheel-drive G1 coupe. The world premiere of the model took place in December 2013. The European version debuted in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The legendary Mustang, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014 (a special plate with the image of a galloping Mustang reminds about it in the interior of all copies of the eighth generation), simply has no right to radically change its appearance. Actually, Ford would not dare such action. Nevertheless, designers managed to give the cult image a touch of modern style, not spoiling the dynamism, impetuosity and grin of the car.

Americans can afford a little more experiments from the point of view of techniques. Thus, keeping the same length of the wheelbase (2720 mm), the Mustang became 38 mm wider and 36 mm lower. The rear wheels’ track, meanwhile, was widened by 70 mm. Obviously, it was made to improve the stability and driveability of the car. It is confirmed by the all-new suspension. In front, the Mustang has McPherson struts with a double articulated system and a less heavy, but more rigid subframe. This allowed installing bigger brake discs (320 mm) on the front axle, and they can be increased to 380 mm optionally. The rear suspension now is an independent aluminum multilever design.
