2021 Kia Niro EV Owner's Manual

The KIA Niro EV is a front-wheel drive electric K1 crossover. It is based on the first generation Niro model. The vehicle premiered at the fifth Internatioan Electric Vehicle Expo on Jeju Island (Korea) on May 2, 2018, with a European presentation at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018.

The electric version of the KIA Niro crossover is available in two versions that differ in range. The version with a 64 kW∙h lithium-polymer battery gives the car a range of up to 385 km on a single charge (manufacturer data, according to the WLTP cycle – 450 km), while the less-capacious battery of 39.2 kW∙h allows a single charge to drive up to 240 km (WLTP – 300 km). The battery itself is mounted under the trunk (respectively, the center of mass is lower), which has improved the vehicle’s handling. It can be charged to 80% from the 100-kilowatt terminal in 54 minutes. The crossover is powered by an electric motor producing 204 hp and 395 Nm of torque. It enables the car to accelerate to the first 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.

The KIA Niro EV has retained the recognizability based on the Niro hybrid models, but the design of the electric car differs in several distinctive elements. First of all, it is the imitation grille in the corporate style “nose of a tiger”, which retained only the outline from the “brothers” with an internal combustion engine. Exactly in it on the right side there is a connector for a power cable. In addition, modified front and rear bumpers (in front daytime running lights, cut through the blue stripe, now reminiscent of the arrow). Also the electric car is available only for this model with 17-inch wheels.
