2021 Toyota Hilux Owner's Manual
Toyota Hilux eighth generation received a new frame with side members of larger cross section and thickness, as well as three variants of suspension, each with its own settings of elastic elements and shock absorbers. If most of the time the pickup will operate on asphalt roads, the Comfort suspension is suitable. The universal variant Standard provides equal efficiency both on asphalt and off-road. And for extreme conditions and loadings Japanese have created a suspension Heavy duty.
The 3-liter diesel engine 1KD is no longer under the hood of Toyota Hilux. It was replaced by a new turbocharged “four” 1GD with the working volume of 2.8 liters. This engine has 177 hp and 450 Nm of torque. In its turn, the place of 2.5-liter diesel engine was taken by 2.4-liter D-4D with 150 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. In some markets, the 2.7-liter gasoline engine retained its place in the engine lineup, and even a 4-liter six. As for gearboxes, the 5-speed automatic has been replaced by a 6-speed one, and the manual has 5 and 6 gears. And the latter, called i-MT, for the first time on a pickup received the technology to match the speed with the gear during shifts (in other words, automatic shifts).
