But in terms of the running gear Toyota RAV4 remained the same: the same platform, the same suspension scheme and the same four-wheel drive system with multi-disk clutch in the drive of the rear wheels (in Sport mode electronics blocks it preventively). The parameters of geometric cross-country ability of the crossover also remained the same.

In the European Toyota RAV4 engine range some changes occurred. In particular, Japanese company’s engineers modernized the 2-liter gasoline engine that began to put out 151 hp of power and 195 Nm of torque instead of 146 and 187 respectively. In addition, the unit became more economical and meets Euro 6 standards. The new 2-liter diesel engine also meets the same standards with 143 hp and 320 Nm of torque. And even if it is slightly weaker than the old 2.2-liter engine, it consumes less fuel and is more environmentally friendly.
