It is possible to equip the VW Atlas on the “home” market with one of two gasoline power plants: it is either a 2-liter TFSI-motor developing 238 hp and 350 Nm of torque, or 3.6-liter atmospheric VR6 with 280 “horses” and 361 Nm of torque. Each of the engines is combined only with the classic Aisin eight-speed torque converter. The all-wheel drive system is available only with the “senior” motor – multi-disk Haldex clutch connects the rear axle when the front ones are slipping. Ground clearance of the vehicle is 203 mm. The front suspension is independent, McPherson struts; a multilever is set behind.

In the basic version S crossover is equipped with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, a stabilization system with electronic differential lock, cruise control, a rearview camera and a 6-speaker audio system. The top version SEL Premium assumes remote engine start system, panoramic roof, heated front seats with electric drives, multimedia with 8-inch screen and Fender audio system, as well as a number of electronic assistants – adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, road marking system, blind spot monitoring, etc.
