2022 GMC Yukon XL Owner's Manual
There is also a change in terms of power units. For the first time since the second generation of the model a diesel engine is available for the Yukon. This is an inline “turbo six” 3.0 Duramax with 281 hp and 623 Nm of torque. The petrol V8 engines remain unchanged in terms of output: the same 360 hp and 519 Nm from the 5.3-liter and 426 hp and 630 Nm from the 6.2-liter. But they are now equipped with a partial cylinder deactivation system, which allows not to use two to six of them at low engine loads.
In addition, the basic now is a ten-speed automatic transmission (previously – six-speed automatic transmission). The four-wheel drive system is also upgraded, for which an electronically lockable differential is available as an option. Passive dampers are standard, but the AT4 and Denali versions are already equipped with Magnetic Ride Control adaptive dampers from the factory. And for extra money you can get adaptive air suspension Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which is able to vary clearance of the SUV in the range of 100 mm.
