As for technical equipment, the car is now equipped with a brand new 2.5-liter A25A-FKS engine, it became longer stroke, there is a combined system of fuel injection (into the intake manifold and directly into the cylinder), the “inlet” camshaft has an electric instead of hydraulic phasing unit (it works faster and wider range), and increased compression ratio from 10.4:1 to 13:1. In addition, this motor can switch to the fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle in part-load modes. The power of the engine has also increased, now it makes 206 hp (249 Nm) instead of the former 181 hp (231 Nm). The 3.5-liter V6 engine has been upgraded, too, with a combined fuel injection, increased compression ratio (11.8:1 instead of 10.8:1) and a new hydraulic phasing unit at the intake end with an extended phasing range. The upgraded 2GR-FKS engine now develops 305 hp (362 Nm) compared to 277 hp (346 Nm) previously. Also, the Toyota Camry, now equipped with a new eight-speed “automatic” Direct Shift. Exclusively for the Chinese market will be offered and 2.0-liter 6AR-FSE series engine, which develops 169 hp (201 Nm) and works with a 6-speed manual.
