2022 Toyota Tundra Owner's Manual
As for the technical part, the Tundra of the third generation received reconfigured suspension and steering. Also have changed the characteristics of shock absorbers and calibration of springs (so even with a full load the body of the pickup preserved a uniform horizontal position). Then came the aerodynamics. Remodeling of mirrors and taillights bodies allowed to reduce air flow around these elements. And another important improvement is that the noise insulation of the pickup became more effective. Noise of engine and transmission, tires and wind passing through the truck will be much less annoying.
In spite of the fact that this modification of the Tundra is equipped with an extended cab, its body length is comparable to other versions of the model – 1.98 m. For an extra fee the pickup can be equipped with 2,44 m long body. The sides and front of the body are equipped with sliding bars for cargo fixation. Another nice feature of the model is a shock-absorbed rear wall: it does not swing open with a rumble, but smoothly lowers down.
The Toyota Tundra can be powered by one of three gasoline powertrains. The least powerful of them, the 270-horsepower one, is a design with a V-shaped arrangement of six cylinders and four liters of working volume. Next in the hierarchy is a 4.6-liter V8 with 310 “horses” and the same configuration, but 5.7-liter, able to give 381 hp. A 5-speed automatic transmission works with the least powerful engine. The other units are available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
