In 1985, the American automobile concern produces a full-fledged sedan. There was also a station wagon body. They were equipped with automatic and manual gearboxes, riding on front-wheel drive. Motors here were quite powerful: 2.5, 3.0 and 3.8 liters. This model was sold by 2 million people.
The 2nd generation came out in 1991. The car got nicer exterior and rounded shapes, narrow stylish headlights. Drive remained front-wheel drive, the engine was set to 6 cylinders, working only with automatic transmission.
The third generation – 1995 is very different in design from previous models. The body shape is in the shape of a drop. This car also runs only on automatic with a 3.0-liter engine with 200 horses. Taurus of the 3rd generation, got an anti-skid system.
The next model appeared in 1996. It is similar to the previous model, but more elongated and elongated. Here the wheels were enlarged, which have light alloy wheels as standard. The optics have changed – the headlight is in the shape of a drop.
The fifth generation was produced only 2.5 years from 2007-2009. And this model has changed again externally. Now the sedan is more presentable and comfortable. Taurus is equipped with a 6-cylinder 3.5 liter engine, and for the first time it is possible to install all-wheel drive. Standard equipment includes climate control, cruise control, power windows of all doors, power mirrors, and a high-quality audio system. All indicators can be attributed to the business class.
In 2010, there was an update of the generation. The model is completely different from the previous one – now it is sportier and more stylish. The car is equipped with 21st century technologies, such as LED headlights, color display, advanced safety system.
The latest generation started production in 2015 – again, the exterior has changed dramatically, and there is an opportunity to install the latest hybrid unit.
