In Europe, the engine range of Ford Escape consists of petrol and turbo-diesel power units. In the first case, it is 1,6-liter engine of EcoBoost family, giving out 150 or 182 hp of capacity and working, respectively, with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-band “automat”. Diesel TDCi with a working volume of 2.0 liters produces 140 or 163 hp (320 or 340 Nm, respectively). Aggregate with it can be the same 6-speed “mechanics”, or the robotized transmission Powershift with two clutches. The most economical of the whole range of engines turned out to be a 140-horsepower turbodiesel in a front-wheel drive configuration. It consumes 5.3 liters of heavy fuel per 100 km in the mixed cycle.
