GMC Terrain is a mid-size crossover with front- or all-wheel drive, built on the GM Theta platform. The world premiere of the model took place at the New York Auto Show in the spring of 2009.

There are two petrol units in GMC Terrain’s engine range – a 2.4-liter capacity four with 182 hp and 236 Nm of torque, and a 264-hp (300 Nm) V6 with 3.0-liter capacity. The smaller volume engine uses Hydra-Matic 6T45 six-speed automatic transmission and the larger – the improved Hydra-Matic 6T70. One more difference is that the version with a 2.4-liter engine is equipped with electric steering booster, and with a 3-liter – hydraulic booster. Besides, front-wheel drive is available only with a 2,4-liter unit.
