Ford EcoSport is a compact crossover of “K1” class, based on the Fiesta hatchback. The premiere of the concept version of the model took place in January 2012 in India, and the serial European version of the car was presented to the general public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013.

Development of EcoSport was conducted by specialists of Ford’s Brazilian division. It was on the Latin American market, as well as markets in India, Thailand and some other countries initially oriented crossover creators. But later it was decided to prepare it for sale in Europe and the CIS countries.

The engine lineup of Ford EcoSport is presented by a 1.5-liter atmospheric gasoline engine, giving 110 “horsepower,” 1.0-liter turbo-motor EcoBoost with 125 “ponies,” and also a diesel unit, giving 90 “horsepower. Depending on the version EcoSport can be both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
