The manufacturer has supplemented the power plant lineup for the Golf Variant with a 1.5 liter TSI petrol engine that develops 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. At low loads, it is able to cut off half of the cylinders, which increases fuel efficiency. In addition, the eco-version of the unit is now available, with a power of 130 horsepower.
In the basic version, the car is equipped with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system, as well as a “sportily” tuned independent suspension.
Golf R accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds thanks to a 2-liter turbo engine with 310 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It works in tandem with the proprietary 7-DSG robotised gearbox or a six-speed manual.
