2017 Volkswagen Beetle Owner's Manual

The Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio is a front-wheel drive “H1” class convertible with a soft top. The world premiere of the third generation model took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2012.
Despite the fact that the appearance of the next generation of Beetle can be safely called new, because designers have literally reworked every detail, it is still readable motifs of the classic Beetle, which conquered the whole of Europe in its time. Volkswagen aspired to it consciously, and it did not go wrong, having received as a result the classical look in modern execution.
Another tradition of the Beatle convertible is the soft top. In the third generation of the model, it opens and closes automatically at speeds of up to 48 km/h. It takes about 10 seconds for the mechanism to do everything. Moreover, the roof is folded so well, that it doesn’t interfere with the view. Another important point is the safety. The Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio is equipped with an active rollover protection system for all four passengers. It consists of two modules, hidden behind the backs of the rear passengers. If the Beetle overturns, the safety arc is activated as quickly as airbags are triggered. By the way, these systems have one drive for two.
