GMC Acadia is a large SUV with front or all-wheel drive, built on the GM Lambda platform. The world premiere of the model took place in the summer of 2006, and in December of the same year sales of the car began in the United States.

The Acadia became the first crossover in GMC’s lineup, but despite belonging to a slightly more compact class than full SUVs, the car still stands out for its considerable size, even though it shrank slightly after the 2009 restyling. As a result, the length of the crossover is 5098 mm, width is 1986 mm, height is 1775 mm, and length of wheelbase is 3020 mm, which allowed to place three rows of seats for 7 or 8 passengers easily in the interior. Curb weight of the vehicle slightly exceeds the mark of two tons.
