2017 GMC Savana Owner's Manual

The Savana 1500 had a 295-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 engine under the hood, while the Savana 3500 had a 300-horsepower, 6.0-liter engine. Both engines were coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. Most Savanas had all-wheel drive, but the Savana 1500 also offered all-wheel drive. The standard equipment was power steering and stability control system.

The Savana got its first major upgrade in 1996, when it actually changed its name from GMC Rally to GMC Savana. The car has received a new front end, and it was offered a new 4.3-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 195 hp. At the same time, a similar model under the brand name Chevrolet called Chevrolet Express was also launched. But the main update was still to come.
