2017 Volkswagen Touareg Owner's Manual

The Volkswagen Touareg is a K3-class SUV. The restyled version of the second-generation model made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2014.
It made no sense to expect that the Germans would seriously redesign the Touareg before they could present its next generation. This car can be called rather a facelift than a restyling as the changes in appearance are minimum and almost all of them came to the front part of the SUV. In the first place, another radiator grille with four cross bars instead of two, redrawn front bumper with new fog lights, as well as increased in size headlights (bi-xenon headlights in all configurations) catches your eye. And as for the rear end, there are modernized taillights with LED elements.
Transmission
All Touareg engines are standardly paired with a six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission, which due to the greater use of aluminum has a low weight.
Engines
V6 FSI
The range of petrol engines starts with a brand new 3.6 liter V6 unit with 280 hp, which develops a maximum torque of 360 Nm. This engine is equipped with the innovative FSI direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and 4-valve technology. The special arrangement of the crankcase and oil pump ensures smooth operation of the engine in case of strong lateral and longitudinal body tilts.
V8 FSI
The new 4.2 V8 FSI is also an improvement over the V8 that was available before the restyling. The engine develops 350 hp at 6,800 rpm. Maximum torque also rose to 440 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The variable valve timing engine has a lightweight design, low vibration levels and low fuel consumption for 8-cylinder engines.
