By the way, Optima Hybrid can go without internal combustion engine. However, such exclusively electric trip will not be long. The VESS (Virtual Engine Sound System) reproduces the sound of a running gasoline engine so the electric car won’t scare passersby with silence while driving.

With all this in mind, the Optima Hybrid, equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission with an additional oil pump installed by the engineers to work better with the engine-generator, consumes just over 6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers in the mixed cycle.
