They didn’t invent a new platform for the Sportage and upgraded the existing one. Thus, both front and rear suspensions were revised (McPherson and multilever accordingly). And the body due to usage of ultra-high strength steel became stiffer by almost 40%, which could not but affect the passive safety of the vehicle. In a positive way, naturally.

It became richer and equipped with Kia Sportage, but more importantly, the fact that the cabin space crossover has become more, especially in the legs of rear passengers, and the volume of luggage compartment has increased from 465 to 491 liters (in the configuration with the “spare”). In addition, the fifth door appeared optional electric drive, which certainly added to the comfort of using the car.
