2017 Nissan Leaf Owner's Manual
Unlike cars with a combustion engine, the Nissan Leaf has no tailpipe, a clear indication that the car emits no CO2 or other harmful substances. The combination of the Nissan Leaf’s regenerative braking system and lithium-ion batteries, allows the car to travel a distance of 160 km on a single full charge.
Nissan’s charging technology makes this process easy and convenient. The Nissan Leaf’s batteries can be charged to 80% of their capacity in less than 30 minutes using a quick-charge system. Charging the batteries from the 200-volt home grid will take about 8 hours, enough time for a night’s rest for both the driver and the car.
